ABOUT THE HICKS PREP CLUB

The Hicks Prep Club is an enrichment program for students (grades 7-12), who reside in one of the 22 properties owned and managed by the Jacksonville Housing Authority, Section 8, and HabiJax homes.  The Prep Club utilizes monthly meetings, book clubs, essay contests, test prep, and other cultural enrichment activities to assist students in reaching their full academic potential. This program also offers a financial incentive that rewards students for their hard work and academic achievements for going to school. The ultimate goal is help students obtain a Hicks Scholarship to the University of North Florida.   This scholarship provides students with tuition, room and board, and books at no expense for a four year period if they meet the criteria to this prestigious university.

The Program is generously funded by David and Ann Hicks.

MEETING LOCATIONS

Fairway Oaks - 5407 Golfbrook Dr.
Home Prep Club for residents of the Fairway Oaks, Brentwood, Royal Terrace, and Speedway Park areas - Meets the 2nd Monday of each Month at 6 pm.

HabiJax - 2404 Hubbard St.
Home Prep Club for residents of the East Side, Long Branch, Centennial East and West areas - Meets the 2nd Tuesday of each Month at 6 pm.


Southwind Villas - 8711 Newton Rd.
Home Prep Club for residents of the Anders, Forest Meadow East, Southwind Villas, and Jax Beach areas - Meets the 2nd Wednesday of each Month at 6:30 pm. 


Brentwood Lakes - 3456 Village Center Dr. Building d
Meets the 2nd Saturday of each Month at 10:30 am.


Victory Point - 6750 Ramona Blvd. Building 26
Meets the 2nd Thursday of each month at 6:00 p.m.
