May 29, 2020 Covid-19 Update

Jacksonville Housing is committed to helping our families and communities. As we all are focused on ensuring that we foster a safe environment for both our clients and employees during these unprecedented times, while striving to provide the best services possible.

Jacksonville Housing is taking guidance from the CDC, which recommends regular facility cleaning and limited personal contact as the most important preventive measures we can take. Out of an abundance of caution, we have implemented the following procedures effective Monday, June 8, 2020:

  • When entering Jacksonville Housing facilities, we strongly urge you to continue taking precautionary measures, including:
    • Social Distancing: staying 6 feet apart from other people, while at the building
    • Wearing a face cover/mask
    • Washing your hands frequently and limiting the amount of people with whom you interact with.
  • Clients will be permitted to enter the building at 1300 N. Broad Street under the following circumstances:
    • Appointments: All scheduled appointments will require the letter verifying your appointment. Please ensure that you follow the social distancing guidelines while in Jacksonville Housing Authority facilities.
      If you are scheduled for an appointment and are not feeling well, please contact your Housing Counselor directly to reschedule;
  • Emergency: If you have an emergency and need to see one of our staff members in the Housing Choice Voucher Department, you may be seen on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. If possible, call your Housing Counselor in advance, and they will determine whether you need to come into the office.
  • Notary: If you need to get a document notarized that you are submitting to the JH. - Notary services will be available on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
  • We will continue to accept documentation via mail bin at the front door of the office at 1300 N. Broad St. from (8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.) and the U S Mail, fax, and e-mail.
