March 17, 2020 Covid-19 Update

Like all of you, we've been monitoring the evolving impact of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. The health and safety of our residents and employees is our first priority. As such, effective immediately, we are suspending all in-person meetings. We also are limiting Public access to all JH offices to emergency situations. The Public Housing and Housing Choice Voucher Programs will accept paperwork via email, fax, or scanned documents. A drop box for each program will also be placed outside the door of the main building at 1300 N. Broad Street. Each JH property location will also have drop boxes to receive information. The location of the boxes will either be outside of the building or in the lobby. All interviews and/or appointments will be conducted by phone.

If your residence is scheduled for an inspection, a JH staff person will first contact you by phone prior, to entering your unit to determine your health condition. In cases where there is a concern, we will not do HQS/UPCS/Housekeeping Inspections or routine work orders, under either program, for a minimum of two weeks. At that time, we will reassess the situation, and respond accordingly. We will continue to complete emergency work orders. Again, all staff will be accepting documentation either by email, fax, scan or to limit traffic agency wide.

The Department of Housing and Urban Development's COVID-19 page states: "everyone should continue promoting everyday disease prevention strategies":

  • If you are sick, stay home from work or school.
  • Avoid close contact with those who are already sick.
  • Cover your nose and mouth when coughing or sneezing with a tissue or the crook of your arm.
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water.
  • Avoid touching eyes, nose, or mouth.
